External Controlling for Wurmberg ski area
Although the official opening of the completely renewed and expanded ski area on the highest mountain of Lower Saxony took place on December 6, 2013, the skiing didn't start before the end of January 2014. The reason was the loss of 29 key snowmaking hours in the beginning of December due to a technical defect at the first time the new snowmaking system was started. Bad enough, but thanks to a controlling tool specially developed by Montenius Consult the management of the Wurmbergseilbahn knew that they were on target for visitation and turnover levels when the ski area finally opened. That proved that the visitor forecast that had been carried out by Montenius Consult was a sound basis for the business plan.
